Built for the big life decisions
The Name
A keystone is the wedge-shaped stone at the top of an arch. It goes in last, but once in place, it helps the entire structure work together. Every other stone depends on it.
This is exactly how we think about comprehensive financial planning. The problem isn't necessarily the individual advice people are receiving. It's what can happen when good advice is given in isolation.
Your investments, taxes, retirement, estate plan, benefits, and business interests are interconnected. A decision in one area can create opportunities—or unintended consequences—in another. A Roth conversion can affect Medicare premiums. A beneficiary designation can override what was intended in a will or trust.
Keystone Private Wealth Advisors exists to help connect the pieces—working alongside your other professionals so important financial decisions are made with the full picture in view.
Why We Started
After more than two decades helping individuals, families, and business owners navigate important financial decisions, we had the opportunity to ask a simple question: If we could design a wealth management firm around what matters most to clients, what would it look like?
Keystone is the answer.
We took the most important lessons learned over years of working with clients and built a firm around them—thoughtful planning, clear advice, personal relationships, coordinated strategies, and greater independence to choose the resources and solutions we believe best fit each client's unique circumstances.
The result is a firm intentionally designed to help clients see the full picture, understand their options, and make important financial decisions with confidence.
What We Believe
People are smart. They just don't know what they don't know.
That sentence drives more of our decisions than anything else. The clients who come to us have built companies, run departments, raised families, and made thousands of good calls along the way. They are not looking for someone to think on their behalf. What they often lack is exposure to a specific decision, because retirement happens once, a business sells once, and a pension election gets made once. There is rarely a chance to go back and try a different answer.
So we ask what we might be missing. We look for the question that hasn't been raised yet, the option nobody mentioned, and the second-order consequence sitting three years out. Then we put those options side by side and explain the reasoning, including the parts that argue against what we recommend.
A meeting has gone well when a client can explain the decision to someone else in their own words.
What We Hold
Ourselves To
Integrity.
Doing what is right, particularly when a different answer would be easier or more profitable for us. Trust can take years to build and can be lost in an afternoon.
Empowerment.
Explaining options rather than issuing instructions. A recommendation nobody understands is a recommendation nobody can evaluate.
Excellence.
Preparing thoroughly, checking the details, and anticipating problems before they become mistakes. Decisions that don't offer a second chance deserve more than a reasonable effort.
Stewardship.
Clients hand us more than account balances. They tell us about their businesses, their marriages, their children, and the things that worry them at two in the morning. We never lose sight of the value and responsibility that comes with being invited into those decisions.
Where We're Going
Our vision is to build Keystone into one of the most trusted and recognized financial planning firms in the Intermountain West.
That doesn't mean becoming the biggest. It means continuing to deepen our expertise, invest in our people and technology, and build a firm capable of serving increasingly complex financial lives without losing the personal relationships that matter most.
We want Keystone to be a firm clients rely on, not only with the decisions they're making today, but with the decisions their families will face for generations to come.
Meet The Team Who You'll Be Working With.
Great financial planning takes more than one person. At Keystone, our team works together to make sure the details are handled, commitments are followed through, and our clients receive the personal attention they deserve.
We're also committed to developing the next generation of financial professionals. Through our Wealth Management Internship Program, aspiring advisors gain firsthand experience seeing how comprehensive planning is done—how to understand the client before recommending a solution, connect decisions across their financial life, and deliver an exceptional client experience.
And our team extends beyond the people you see here. Through our affiliations with JFC Advisor Network and LPL Financial, Keystone has access to a broader network of professionals, technology, and resources supporting our firm behind the scenes. This allows us to combine the personal relationships and responsiveness of an independent firm with the resources and infrastructure of a much larger organization.
